“We were picked up at the hotel by our guide and driver. We got on really well from the start and enjoyed Pauls company and conversation. Rundale Palace was amazing, we were happy to visit out of season as there were no crowds and we could take our time to take photos. We ate the potato pancakes in the restaurant and a piece of Chocolate cake before finishing off with some Cherry Balsam. Hill of Crosses was interesting, we had a walk around and purchased a cross at the local stall and left it on the hill before leaving.”

We learned about life before freedom and after the removal of soviet rule. On the drive we requested traditional Latvian lunch. Normunds did not disappoint, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch with him at an outside dining area near the Rundale Palace. The food and drink were very good as was our dinner conversation.”
